Your smile is the first thing people notice when they meet you. In fact, the Academy of General Dentistry reports that 40 percent of survey respondents notice a smile first in people they work with, and 96 percent truly believe that a smile is an important element to an individual’s overall appearance.

-
Composite veneers
Composite resin veneers are the affordable choice of dental restoration that can be completed in a single setting. They are made up of resin or plastic and can be easily repaired if broken. They help you achieve an improved natural smile and can last anywhere from 5 to 10 years.
-
Porcelain veneers
Made of high-quality ceramic, these types of dental veneers are extremely resistant to staining and fracture. Not only do they look like natural teeth, but they also will no corrode over time and will continue to give you the mirror natural tooth effect for many years to come. These types of veneers are an absolute crowd favourite as they can last up to 20 years!
-
Lumineer veneers
These types of veneers are gaining increased traction today. Popularly known as ‘non-prep veneers’, they are created from a patented material known as Cerinate®, Lumineers™. They are ultra-thin veneers that, as the name suggests, can be simply applied to the tooth without any preparation or grinding. They can easily last 20 years and may require two visits to complete.
HOW ARE DENTAL VENEERS FIXED?
The procedure is fairly simple and begins with an important consultation appointment.
-
Consultation appointment
The first step in getting a new set of veneers is a consultation for x-rays and impressions. After an in-depth discussion on your goals for the veneers, you move into the second step. Here, you’ll be getting a mock-up which is a series of images that will help you visualise the appearance of the end results better.
-
Procedure appointment for veneers
On the day of your procedure, our dentists will begin by removing a small portion of your enamel from each tooth. This process is known as tooth preparation and helps create a space for the veneer to adhere to without interfering with the natural bite.
The dentist will take a 3D digital image of the teeth which is then sent to the dental laboratory where they begin to make your dental veneers. You can be sent home with a temporary veneer.
On your second appointment, our dentist will apply a bonding agent to your tooth which will help roughen the surface of your tooth enough to hold the veneer in place. The veneer is then cemented onto your teeth with the help of a special light, and just like that – within a few minutes you get a beautiful new smile to go home with!
