Dear Valued Clients,
The Victorian Government has announced an extension of the existing lockdown until Tuesday 27 July 2021 11:59 PM. This is in response to the current levels of community transmission of coronavirus across Victoria.
Dental practitioners continue to be authorised workers and are permitted to provide management of patients with urgent needs or care.
Practices are to screen patients for symptoms and if they have been at any of the potential exposure sites. Treatment will be deferred for anyone reporting symptoms or anyone who has been at one of the exposure sites. Screening patients prior to presenting for treatment remains one of our important mitigation measures in helping to reduce the risk of exposure in our practices.
Around one third of primary contacts of the current outbreak are in regional Victoria, and there have been exposure sites and cases across much of the state. For that reason, these restrictions continue to apply to all dental practitioners in Victoria.
Travel restrictions remain in place for people living in metropolitan Melbourne, with a travel limit of 25km from your primary place of residence.
Guidelines also indicated that QR code check-in will become mandatory for all workplaces with limited exceptions. We will update you with more information once it becomes available or you can ring us to learn more. (03 9315 8199).
Face masks will still be required indoors in both regional Victoria and metropolitan Melbourne. This means all staff must wear a face mask in all areas of the dental practice (not just when treating patients) and patients must wear a face mask in the reception area. The face mask requirement applies to everyone aged 12 years and older unless an exemption applies.
We cannot wait to see all our lovely patients again.
Stay home, stay safe.
